For those who love smooth and fragrant black teas, Wilderness black tea offers an incredible depth of flavor. An elevated tea classic hailing from FuJian, the birthplace of tea.

About Tea:

Our finest grade of Wilderness Black Tea, harvested from TongMuGuan of WuYi mountains wild tea trees in China’s southeastern FuJian Province, the birthplace of tea. Masterfully oxidized into an auburn color, this black tea has an impressive strength, density and refined finish. The Wilderness Black Tea has a richly textured infusion that offers hints of raspberry, notes of burnt sugar and sweet lychee with a deep malty finish.

WuYiShan mountain sits in FuJian Province of China, it is the geographical boundary between Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province. Surrounded by a lush and bio-diverse mountainous region, this certified organic tea farm is one we have been working with since 2010.WuYiShan mountain is a famous tea mountain for its Mineral-rich Soil and microclimate, the combination of the mountainous terrain, the nearby rivers, and the dense forest cover creates microclimates within the tea gardens, further enhancing the quality and diversity of teas produced.

TongMuGuan is located in the centre tea producing 00area of Wuyi Mountain, with a favorable geographical location, moderate altitude, humid climate, four distinct seasons and abundant rainfall, which contributes to the tea growing. And the geology of Wuyi Mountain is mostly granite, volcanic rocks and other rocky geology, this rocky soil is rich in minerals, which has a significant effect on the growth of tea trees, adding a unique flavor and quality to the tea.

Preparation:

Use the first infusion to rinse the tea(to loosen up and stretch the tea leaves)

Tea Ware: Gaiwan is always recommended

Water Temperature: 212 °F

Rate: 5g : 110ml

Brewing Time: 4-8s

Repeat several times until the flavor and aroma of the tea dissipates. As the brewing session ensues, increase the infusion time to coax out the body and strength of the final infusions. This top-shelf black tea is delightfully smooth and aromatic when brewed straight, or divine with a touch of milk and sugar.
